MY PLASTIC DETOX

7 REASONS I'LL NEVER COOK WITH ANYTHING BUT ACACIA

I went down the microplastics rabbit hole last year and it changed how I see everything in my kitchen. I tried BPA-free plastic, silicone, bamboo, two "natural" wooden sets from Amazon. Every one had something hidden.

Then a friend told me about acacia wood. Here's what I wish someone told me a year ago 👇

1. Nothing added

Every product I tried had something added. BPA-free plastic still had BPS. Silicone had siloxanes. Bamboo had formaldehyde glue. Amazon coated in industrial lacquer.

Acacia is naturally oily. It's antibacterial, antifungal, and water-repelling all at once. It doesn't need coatings. It doesn't need chemicals. It's just... wood.

2. They actually proved it

I don't trust labels anymore. After a year of every "safe" claim being a lie, I trust proof.

Woodsen got their utensils independently tested. Third-party lab. FDA food contact standards.

3. Antibacterial

This was my biggest hesitation — won't wood hold onto bacteria? Turns out acacia has natural tannins and compounds that actively kill bacteria. USDA research found that acacia reduces bacterial populations by up to 99% within hours — even without washing. Most woods don't do that.

4. It doesn't break down

I've had cheap wooden spoons crack within months. They splinter, they warp, they get that weird smell.

Acacia is one of the hardest woods on earth. The Egyptians built with it 5,000 years ago — in a desert climate where durability meant everything. I've had my set for 11 months, cook almost every day — they look the same as day one. And if anything ever happens, lifetime warranty. They replace it.

5. Not the stuff from Amazon

Good luck finding real acacia on Amazon. Most "acacia" utensils on there are coated in shellac and lacquer — at that point you're not even cooking with wood anymore. The cheaper sets are also glued from multiple pieces, which means bacteria grows in the seams.

Woodsen uses real, solid acacia. No toxins. No glue. The first time I picked one up I could tell it was a completely different thing.

6. What 15,000+ families are saying

This is the part that convinced me I wasn't crazy for caring about this.

"As a 63-year-old single dad of a 2-year-old, I want nothing but the best for her. Woodsen was the first set I found with no coatings, no glue, nothing added. That was enough for me." — Dylan

"I researched safe cookware for months. Acacia kept coming up as the answer. When I found Woodsen — no coating, no toxic chemicals — it was exactly what I was looking for." — Suzie A.

"The lifetime warranty told me everything. A company that stands behind their product like that isn't cutting corners on what's inside it." — Bob W.

"I ordered a set for my son and my daughter separately. The beauty of the utensils and the storage bowl sealed it." — Karen S.

7. Six sets. Over $200. One winner.

I spent over $200 on utensils that all went in the trash:

BPA-free sets: $48. Still had chemicals. Silicone set: $56. Leaches above 300°F. Bamboo set: $39. Formaldehyde glue. Wooden sets from Amazon: $68. Coated in lacquer.

My friend originally paid $199 for her Woodsen set. Real Acacia, hand-carved, no coatings, lifetime warranty. She said it was worth every penny.

Right now it's on sale for $99 with the same lifetime warranty because it's a small batch and once it's gone it's gone.
